New American Fabric technology is based on two innovations:
- Common chemical moieties in the textile industry exist that can robustly integrate into cellulosic-based fibers. Utilizing these structures allows for the creation of “drop-in” compounds that can be applied to any textile using industry-standard techniques.
- Our chemistry covalently binds selenium to organic compounds, enabling the combination of a chemical chassis with a well-characterized antimicrobial.
This combined technology creates a stable and inexhaustible source of antimicrobial activity.
